With virtual interviews this past cycle, Advocate Children’s
Hospital- Park Ridge was the program where I felt a
genuine connection to the people even through a screen.
Their steadfast commitment to diversity and advocacy
resonated with me and were characteristics I was looking
for in a program. Since joining, it is apparent that ACH-PR
fosters a supportive learning environment that prioritizes
resident wellness.
Hobbies/Interests: Spending time with my dog, Koda.

Why are you excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family? I always appreciate a
program that is able to balance high patient volume with
a true appreciation for resident wellness. I feel like we
have a lot of opportunities to grow, learn, and stretch
ourselves as new physicians, while still having a strong
support network to fall back on. Everyone is so friendly
and I truly feel like I have been welcomed into a giant
family (a family that likes to share a lot of food and
snacks)!
Hobbies/Interests: Reading (a variety of fiction),
creative writing, music (singing/choir, piano, ukulele),
bouldering, travelling, exploring Chicago restaurants and
shows, generally dabbling in all the arts.
Best Place I have visited: Portugal - we traveled all
around the country for our honeymoon and enjoyed a lot
of wine, pastries, and octopus!

Why are you excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family? I am excited to join the
ACH PR family because this hospital is the ideal place to
accomplish residency. Speaking frankly, residency is going
to be tough no matter how you look at it. Getting through
it and remaining sane boils down to one simple thing, the
people you do it with. Looking at the previous classes, I
had the utmost confidence that the people who I would be
working with at this program would make residency as
enjoyable as you could possibly make it. Given that
information, my choice was a no-brainer.

most excited to join a group of people who are
passionate about taking care of kids. The warmth
and encouragement of the team of well-rounded
individuals was immediately apparent and helps
reinforce strong academic and clinical skills— the
exact type of environment I thrive in to become
an excellent physician. I’m excited to learn from
my diverse colleagues and patients in a strong
children’s hospital with a variety of patient cases!

Why are you excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family? I am excited to be serving a
community close to the one that I grew up in. I am excited
to be a part of a hospital with a culture of excellence
whether it be in holistic care for patients or in education for
residents and students. I immediately felt welcomed,
supported, and encouraged to be the best version of myself
possible.
Hobbies/Interests: I have run two marathons so far and
have two more scheduled. I play Pokemon GO every day and
have an impressive collection so far! I read historical
biographies with a life goal of reading one of every
President. I plan to write a book of short stories full of
whimsy. Avid gamer and anime fan. I was a bartender for 8
years and absolutely love refining my craft for my friends
and family!
Best Place I have visited: I went to Paris for Christmas of
2021 prior to residency starting; it was absolutely stunning
until I got COVID and had to quarantine in a hotel room for
14 days. My 4 day trip turned into a 15 day one, but it's an
experience I'll never forget.

Why are you excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family? I'm excited to train in a
program that focuses on the human side of medicine. From
our dedicated community and advocacy rotations to the
unobtrusive DE&I curriculum, every part of our training feels
intentionally crafted to forge us into excellent pediatricians
who understand that a patient's health is determined by
more than simply genetics and lifestyle. Additionally, the
X+Y schedule format allows us to focus on our rotations with
minimal interruption and to then give that same level of
attention to our clinic patients. Another thing that stood out
to me was the overall culture of wellbeing and support that
starts with our program's leadership and extends all the way
down to my co-residents. Since my first day, I have not only
felt genuinely welcome, but that everyone was personally
invested in my success. I can't think of a better place to
train. Finally, my fiancée and I are excited to finally have the
chance to live together after being long distance for all four
years of medical school!

make me a successful resident and physician. Their
passion for service to their local community in
outpatient clinics, wide breadth of subspecialties, and
the kindness of the faculty and staff drew me to apply.
I am so excited to serve the Park Ridge community

my Sub-I at ACH-PR, I fell in love with the
atmosphere. It is incredibly busy and I was there
during the "tridemic" of influenza, COVID, and RSV,
but everyone still was so kind and created a fun and
human environment. I'll never forget taking a break to
play Catch Phrase for ~ 10 minutes on a busy Friday
afternoon. You know the environment is amazing
when so many residents come back or stay as
attendings. :)

I rotated at as a medical student, no program made me
feel as at home as Advocate-Park Ridge did. It is hard not
to be excited to join a family where everyone is nothing
but kind, supportive and dedicated to teaching you
everything they know. I am over the moon to join the
pediatric team that I already know to be full of amazing
people that are as passionate about kids as I am!

Everyone, and I truly do mean everyone
(leadership, residents, staff) was extremely warm
and welcoming during my interview day. It almost
felt like home, like this is where I am meant to
be. The amount of thought that went into
ensuring that I felt supported and that I was set
up for success is unmatched! I have no doubt that
I will learn and grow at Advocate – Park Ridge.

community that Advocate Children’s Hospital - Park Ridge
serves and instantly felt at home. I enjoyed working with
the residents on my rotation here and admired the
autonomy and ownership they felt with the patients they
served. The attendings were also very passionate about
teaching and were invested in the wellbeing of their
residents. I felt it was the right fit from the first day of my
rotation here and I couldn’t imagine doing residency
anywhere else.

am excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family because of the
sense of community and patient diversity that
the program provides. The X + Y schedule,
class size and the vast community outreach
programs like the care mobile initially drew me
to this program. I am also excited to work with
amazing attendings and co-residents.
Hobbies/Interests: Going to basketball

Why are you excited to join the Advocate
Children's Hospital-Park Ridge family? While
rotating at and interviewing with ACH-PR, I always felt
welcomed and supported by both the residents and the
faculty. The positive work environment and the
commitment to personal and professional growth makes
me excited to become part of the family! As an added
bonus, I am grateful I get to continue to call Chicago
"home".
Hobbies/Interests: Cooking, being outdoors,
spending quality time with my family, exploring new
restaurants with friends, curating Spotify playlists,
hanging out with my cat, and binge watching reality TV.

excited to join the ACH-PR family because they
were so welcoming on interview day and
genuinely took interest in me as an applicant
and were even so supportive after the MATCH.
The X+Y schedule is also a great perk for more
work-life balance.
Hobbies/Interests: Anything horror related,
binging Netflix, reading thrillers, and traveling
to other countries

Why are you excited to join the Advocate
Children's Hospital-Park Ridge family? I am
excited to join what seems to be a really robust
program where a resident's education is prioritized.
I am also excited to get involved in a lot of the
outpatient programs such as Centering Parenting
and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which seem
to be really fun, innovative programs for both
patients and families. Everyone I have met so far is
friendly, open, and passionate about what they do.

have known it to be a phenomenal hospital and
learning site for many years. I thoroughly
enjoyed my interviews with Lutheran as the
faculty and residents were all wonderful. I also
am excited to learn from many important names
given that Lutheran has every peds subspecialty
and more.

education and experience the program offers.
Such supportive community and hospital that
treats patients with wide range of pathology gave
me confidence that this will be a perfect program
for me to grow as an excellent pediatrician.

way program leadership spoke to us, especially
during the virtual interview day, conveyed an
investment in and respect for their residents.
Hobbies/Interests: Gardening,
woodworking, cooking, walking my dog. Board
games. I read a lot of poetry and have a soft
spot for fairy tales.

Why are you excited to join the Advocate Children's
Hospital-Park Ridge family? From my first interactions
with faculty and residents, everyone was super kind and
helpful. You can tell that the people here truly care about
one another and love what they do. Advocate Children's
Hospital also serves a diverse patient population and is
one of the largest pediatric care providers in the region. It
has the family-like atmosphere of smaller hospitals, but
with all the resources and opportunities of larger academic
hospitals. The residency program matches very well into
fellowships and equips residents for entering into general
pediatrics as well. Lastly, the opportunity to live in Chicago
and enjoy all that the city has to offer is a huge pro of the
program.
Hobbies/Interests: Sports, football, basketball, hiking,
running, anything outdoors. Trying new restaurants and
breweries. Woodworking.

Why are you excited to join the Advocate
Children's Hospital-Park Ridge family? Although I
am not from the area, I had an amazing experience
during the interview process which helped me realize
how great of a program Advocate Children's Hospital -
Park Ridge truly is. Even though it was all virtual, I
could tell there was a great sense of community,
camaraderie, and support with everyone. I valued a
program where I can feel right at home, knowing that
I am always supported by awesome individuals who
care about my goals and well-being just as much as
how we care for our patients everyday.
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy playing the piano,
cooking and trying new recipes, and also making my
favorite focaccia bread recipe
