Your requirements
• Labels created with SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe must have a GS1 barcode due to regulatory requirements.
Our solution
• The GS1 Barcode Generator from EUROPE IT Services AG. With our solution you can generate GS1 compliant barcodes (GS1 Code 128 and
GS1 Datamatrix) in SAP and use them in forms.
Features:
• Completely developed in ABAP, integration as encapsulated ABAP class in your system code 128 and datamatrix codes according to
GS1 standard
• Support of all common AI's (Application Identifiers)
• No access to external resources necessary (no RFC and no web service call), therefore minimal overhead for code generation
• Generation of the code is independent from physical printing on paper, therefore E-mail delivery of the generated form incl. GS1 barcode
is possible
• Usable with any SAP form technology (SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe,Smartforms, SAPScript)
• The barcode generator requires the HRI (Human Readable Interpretation) with Application Identifiers according to the GS1 standard
• With Adobe LiveCycle Designer generated forms, the GS1 Barcode Generator can be called either in the print program or directly in the
form interface.

The new form technology Adobe Forms is able to handle a lot of barcode types by default. Unfortunately, the possibility to generate a GS1
Datamatrix is still missing. With our tool this is no longer a problem.

GS1 barcode generator for SAP ECC 6.0

Our GS1 Barcode Tool was completely programmed
in ABAP and can be called dynamically during the
form processing.
In addition, it offers the advantage that when a form is
sent by E-mail, the GS1 barcode is already embedded
in the form. Many solutions from competitors generate
the barcode only after it is output via the print server.
However, this is only the case if the form is physically
printed on paper. So there is nothing to prevent you
from generating a 2D barcode in SAP according to the
GS1 standard. The FNC1 and GS identifier can be
integrated and displayed by the form developer in the
form without any problems.
We offer this solution as a consulting solution.
