PeopleSoft: Send Email to Your Class
Overview
Faculty can use the Student Information System (PeopleSoft) to email the students listed on their class rosters.
Note:
When writing an email, there is a 30-minute session timeout. This can be reset. Make sure your browser has pop ups enabled, then
you should see a warning message two minutes before this timeout. Click
OK
to reset the session timeout.
Send an Email
To send an email take the following steps:
1. Log in to My Pitt (my.pitt.edu).
2.
Click
Faculty Center Login

3. Click
Self Service,
then
My Schedule
.
4.
Click on the
Class Roster
icon next to the class you want to contact. This will open an email message form.

5. Make
one
of the following two choices:
a. To email a group of student in a class, check boxes for each student that you wish to email, then click
notify selected
students
.
b. To email a class, click
notify all students
.
6. A
Send Notification
window will display.
a. The University Computing Account email address for the faculty member will be located in the
From:
and
To:
fields.
b. The University Computing Account email addresses for students will be located in the
BCC:
field.
c. Add a
Subject
and
Message Text
, then click
SEND NOTIFICATION
.
