Why an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership?
As part of BGSU’s College of Education and Human Development –
ranked as one of the nation’s best for teacher education – the goal of the
Educational Leadership program is to develop educational leaders who can
lead, regardless of their role, so that students learn. Whether as a teacher
or as an administrator, the BGSU Educational Leadership program will
provide you the tools “to lead where you are.”
Why an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at BGSU?
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership is a 33-semester-hour program
leading to both a master’s degree and principal licensure.
Our cohorts are offered in one of two predetermined formats:
1. Online - All class sessions are presented online.
2. Blended - Classes meet face-to-face three times per semester with
the remaining 12 classes conducted online.
The Educational Leadership program will also work with individual school
districts, educational service centers, and CTC programs to customize a
cohort that meets the needs of faculty. Most students complete the
program in two years, but the sequence can be accelerated.
Nationally recognized and NCATE-accredited
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership is NCATE-accredited and nationally
recognized as a member of the University Council for Educational
Administration, a consortium of higher education institutions committed
to advancing the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the
benefit of children and schools.

into the challenges of PK-12 education and learn the vital leadership skills

and the O.A.E. administrator licensure examination and to apply for the
Initial Administrator license through the Ohio Department of Education.

(Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership to complete the above requirements.
