Exploring the Colonial Revival: Prentis and Stencil Houses
Explore how the interiors of these homes, built around the turn of
the 19th century, were reinterpreted in the mid-20th century. 10:30
a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. daily. Begin at Prentis, 45 minutes.
Full Steam Ahead: Walking Tours of the Ticonderoga
Travel from the boiler room up to the pilothouse as you learn about
life on a 220-foot steamboat. 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily,
45 minutes.

VISIT GUIDELINES
Thank you for observing the following guidelines. Please speak with a
staff member if you have questions.
nPlease do not touch any artwork or objects. Even gentle handling
or accidental touches can cause damage.
n Food and drink are not allowed inside exhibition buildings. You
are welcome to purchase food and drink at the Weathervane Café,
or bring your own onto the grounds.
n Strollers, large backpacks, and other bulky items are restricted in
buildings with close quarters or vulnerable collections (marked
with on the map). Thank you for following instructions from
staff members, who can also answer questions. Free lockers and
cubbies are available in the Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education.
n Photography (without flash) and video are welcome on the
Museum grounds and in most buildings but may be restricted
in some exhibitions. Tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are
prohibited for all indoor use. Share your photos on social media
and tag us @shelburnemuseum.
n We are a smoke/vape-free campus. Smoking and vaping are
permitted in the main parking lot only.
n Pets are not allowed inside the Museum grounds. Vermont state
law prohibits leaving animals in vehicles during warm weather.
Service animals are welcome. 
n Please refrain from phone conversations in exhibition buildings.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Museum grounds are physically accessible, as are most of
our historic buildings. Because each building is unique, we have
created a Physical Accessibility Guide, a Sensory Conditions Guide,
and Social Narratives to help you plan your day. Available at the
Admissions desk or shelburnemuseum.org/visit/accessibility.
Paths, walkways, and roads consist of firmly packed gravel or slate
surfaces. Terrain varies in slope and surface across the Museum’s 45
acres, including some hills.
Wheelchairs and wagons are available free of charge.
Museum shuttle: Onsite transportation is provided, with stops along
the 1-mile route. The last 15-minute circuit begins at 5:00 p.m.
