Clerical Test Battery
This practice test consists of four ability components; spelling, checking, and verbal and numerical
ability. These questions are for practice purposes only and comprise example questions of the type
you would typically see in psychometric assessments. The actual assessment you complete may vary
in difficulty from this one.
GENERAL SPELLING ABILITY
This practice test is designed to assess your ability to identify correctly spelled words. Each question
has six possible answers. One and only one is correct in each case. To familiarise yourself with the
experience of completing ability tests under a time limit, you should use a timer or stop-watch and
allow yourself only 30 seconds to complete this test.

GENERAL CHECKING ABILITY
This practice test is designed to assess your ability to perceive details in words and numbers quickly
and to recognise likenesses and differences rapidly. You will be presented with one correct item made
up of words and/or numbers and a choice of four alternatives, only one of which has been transcribed
correctly. Your task is to select the alternative which is an exact match to the correct item. One and
only one is correct in each case. To familiarise yourself with the experience of completing ability tests
under a time limit, you should use a timer or stop-watch and allow yourself only 1 minute to complete
this test.
