Message from CEO
Goodbye 2023 and Welcome 2024
Birmingham Green is a warm and inviting place to be as the
Holidays approach. Our team is preparing for holiday
events and working hard to ensure that our efforts are
uplifting and enriching the lives of our residents.
This time of the year is an opportunity for reflection and
for us to think about what we have accomplished and what
we hope to achieve in 2024. The holidays mean something
different to everyone, and for some it can be a time of
loneliness and sadness. We have EAP services available
for our team, and social services, psychological, and
psychiatric support available for our residents.
We wish you all a happy, peaceful holiday and a New Year
filled with good health and happiness.
Best Wishes,
Denise Chadwick Wright

Oh, what fun we had at the 77th Greater
Manassas Christmas Parade. We caroled,
socialized with the locals, met a girl scout
dressed as a dinosaur and had yummy
treats given to us. It was a wonderful day.

Santa escorted us around campus during our
annual holiday parade. Families and team
members decorated their cars and handed out
chocolate candies. A holly jolly time was by
all!
Families joined their loved ones with an
afternoon of delights! They enjoyed a hot
chocolate bar, cookie decorating, ornament
making and photo opportunities with Santa
Claus himself!
To kick off our 12 days of Christmas
festivities, we started with a Gingerbread
Contest. Residents and team members
enjoyed building houses together.

Celebration
December 14, 2023
Dr. Ruth Infante is semi-retiring after 27 amazing years of service
with Birmingham Green. Dr. Infante was the stability that offered
BG the opportunity to provide psychiatric care to our residents on
a consistent basis. We were fortunate to have her as part of our
team. Dr. Infante was surprised, happy with the party, and very
touched with the framed good luck card that many of her patients
signed. Although Dr. Infante is leaving Birmingham Green, she will
still be working in her office with existing patients (Not accepting
any new referrals). She enjoys making jewelry and looks forward to
having some time to focus on her craft. Wishing you all the best
Dr. Infante!
A Community with a holistic approach; fostering the
spirit, nurturing the body and nourishing the mind.
In her Nursing Supervisor role, Ramatu goes above and beyond what is required.
She has played a significant role in reducing fall rates, and her initiative
enhances the quality of life for the residents, which has been highly appreciated.
After serving 5+ years with Birmingham Green, Debra Campbell,
Director of Learning & Development is retiring. The relationships
she developed in her tenure are immeasurable. Thank you for your
dedication Debra! We wish you all the best in your new venture!

INFECTION CONTROL UPDATES
In December with the holidays and family/friends gatherings we expected to
see an increase in Influenza and COVID-19 illness. Only one staff member
reported the flu and nine staff have tested positive for COVID-19. We are
pleased to report no residents have been ill with the flu or COVID-19. With
guidance from CDC and our local health department we continue to test staff
as needed for COVID and require masks when entering our facilities.
Education on infection control and vaccinations is ongoing as a proactive
measure to keep our residents and staff safe.
