This guide is primarily designed for businesses and nonprofits located within San
Juan County and the Town of Silverton, Colorado. This Grant Digest is in
alphabetical order in each section and will be updated monthly with up to date

Opportunities
Amazon Small Business Grants
Small Business Grants are exclusively for Amazon Business small business customers that
make less than or equal to 1 million dollars in annual revenue. In 2023, Amazon Business will
award over $250,000 in monetary grants in addition to other prizes to a total of 15 recipients,
including one grand prize recipient, four finalists, and ten semi-finalists. Starting June 15,
Amazon Business customers will have a chance to vote for their favorite entrepreneur to win the
grand prize.

America's Top Small Business Grant
America's Top Small Business Awards (formerly Dream Big Awards) will honor the
achievements of small businesses and highlight their contributions to America’s economic
growth. The 2023 America's Top Small Business Awards are presented by Enova, with
supporting sponsors Dell Technologies, Experian Employer Services, Iron Mountain, T-Mobile

for Business, and Walmart Business. Ten finalists will receive $2,000 and America's Top Small
Business of the Year will receive $25,000.

Bizee Entrepreneur Grants
- Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Grant
One young scholar with entrepreneurial spirit will receive $2,500 to continue their education.
- Fresh Start Business Grant
Whether you’re starting over or starting from scratch, Bizee wants to be there to help your
business succeed. One adult entrepreneur will receive $2,500 to put toward business startup
costs and will also receive free formation services from Bizee.

Cadence Cash Thrive Grant
The Thrive Grant places a special emphasis on small businesses making a significant impact in
underrepresented communities or communities of color. Don’t miss this opportunity to secure
the funds needed to scale up your community impact.

CEDS Finance Small Business Grant
CEDS Finance in partnership with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and
International Trade (OEDIT), has made funding available to be distributed as grants to
underserved small businesses in Colorado. The objective of this program is to address capital
accessibility disparities for startup and existing small businesses, aiming to promote economic
development in the State with an emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Grants of $5,000
will be awarded to underserved small businesses based on the eligibility criteria, with a priority
on low-income status. Applications will then be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until
all grant funds are disbursed.

CLMP Capacity-Building Grant Program
Through the CLMP Capacity-Building Grant Program, nonprofit literary magazines and presses
may apply for grants to support projects that aim to create a sustainable and effective
organization related to fundraising, marketing, distribution, web development, and other areas;
skill-building opportunities for staff and board members; strategic and succession planning;
diversity and equity initiatives; and leadership development and management training.
Literary magazines and presses may apply to the CLMP Capacity-Building Grant Program for
grants of $5,000 or $10,000 to support capacity-building initiatives. Funding from the
Hawthornden Foundation, originally founded in 1983 by the late Drue Heinz, makes this
program possible.

The Creative Business Boost Initiative
The Creative Business Boost Initiative is designed to help empower entrepreneurs who
contribute to the creative economy. By providing grants, educational resources, and access to a
community of business owners, the program strives to bolster the cultural vibrancy of
communities through the entrepreneurial endeavors of creative individuals.

eBay Up and Running
The eBay Up & Running Grant program will award 50 eBay business sellers with grant
packages of $10,000, including cash, eBay education, and a $500 stipend sellers can use to
equip themselves with essential office technology from eBay Refurbished. eBay has been the
home of small business since 1995, offering a global marketplace of 132 million active buyers
and the tools and resources to manage your business and scale for success.

Fast Break for Small Business Grant w/ the Accion Opportunity Fund
Accion Opportunity Fund, LegalZoom, the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G-League have joined forces
to provide entrepreneurs across the country with grants and LegalZoom services to support
their small businesses.
Administered by nonprofit Accion Opportunity Fund, the program aims to assist business
owners with the tools and resources they need to start and grow their businesses – the perfect
play.

-150 small businesses will receive $10,000 grants and a LegalZoom product of their
choosing, valued up to $500
-3,000 emerging entrepreneurs who haven’t yet launched their intended business will
receive a LegalZoom product of their choosing, valued at up to $500

Fedex Small Business Grant Program
The FedEx Small Business Grants Program started in 2012 (formerly, the FedEx Small
Business Grant Contest) to award U.S.-based small businesses with grants and prizes to
enhance their businesses.
Application Timeline: Application is now closed for 2024.
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program
The Goldman Sachs program is an intensive multi-week business education program with
like-minded small business owners and offers one-on-one business advice while learning
valuable skills to help you grow your business. At the end of the program, you will have the
change to apply for a $10,000 grant provided by Goldman Sachs. You must take part in the
program first.

Hello Alice- Small Business Growth Fund
Small Business Growth Fund is back for the third and final round of 2023! In partnership with the
Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and with funding from Etsy and Progressive, the Small
Business Growth Fund provides small business owners the capital they need to make their next
move. Recipients will receive $5,000-$25,000 grants to help accelerate their growth and achieve
their goals.

Hello Alice- American Dream Awards
The American Dream Awards shine a spotlight on small businesses that epitomize the modern
American Dream through their innovative solutions, outstanding community contributions, and

for-profit businesses operating in the United States. If you become a recipient, you'll receive a
package that comprises $1,000 in funding, access to a small business accelerator, media
coverage, and various other perks! Feel free to apply for one or more of the categories listed

Lenovo Small Business Grants
Small business grant with Goodie Nation. Since 2021 Lenovo Evolve Small has provided
financial grants to more than 90 small business owners across North America.
Application Timeline: Next round of applications will be announced soon.

Main Street Backing Small Businesses Grant
500 small business grants of $10,000 will be awarded to eligible businesses in the U.S. and
U.S. territories. Out of 500 recipients selected for $10,000 grants, a limited subset of 25
recipients will be awarded $30,000 Enhancement Grants, which will allow those business
owners the opportunity to create transformative change within their business and in their
community (for example, by giving back, partnering with community members, addressing
cultural, environmental and/ or access needs in their community, opening a new location and/ or
adding staffing). Recipients of the $10,000 grant will be required to submit a final grant report
using a template provided. In addition to questions regarding the completed project, the report
will include prompts on how the business would use the $30,000 Enhancement Grant.
Enhancement Grant project proposals can be related to the $10,000 grant proposal or they may
constitute a separate project.
Application Timeline: Application Period closed on April 7th once 5,000 applications were
submitted. Next NOFO has not been announced. Congrats to the Teller House Hotel here in
Silverton for being selected for this grant!
Nase Growth Grants Program
Since 2006, the NASE has awarded nearly $1,000,000 to members just like you through the
Growth Grants program by providing small business grants. Grants can be used for marketing,
advertising, hiring employees, expanding facilities and other specific business needs.
Application Timeline: Completed applications received in July, August and September
will be reviewed in October.
Progressive Driving Small Business Forward
Applications are now open for the Progressive Driving Small Business Forward grant program,
in collaboration with Hello Alice! This year, Progressive is dedicating $1 million to award 20
deserving businesses with $50,000 grants each. Grant recipients will also be invited to attend
an exclusive 12-week virtual Boost Camp coaching program, designed to equip business
owners with the tools and resources to help them achieve their growth objectives.

Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund (Summer 2024)
DoorDash, in partnership with Hello Alice, has started a Fund to provide grants and resources to
local restaurants across the United States and Puerto Rico affected by natural disasters. Small
businesses are the center of local economies, yet nearly 40% of small businesses are unable to
reopen following a disaster, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Disaster can occur at a moment's notice and access to capital is crucial to helping a restaurant
rebuild their business following a disaster.To be eligible, your restaurant must be experiencing
hardship due to a state, tribal, or federally-declared natural disaster that occurred within the last
12 months, operate a brick-and-mortar location that has been open for at least six months and
have a demonstrated need with a clear plan for use of funds. A partnership with DoorDash is
not required. This grant is only intended to cover expenses incurred due to a natural disaster(s).
COVID-19 related damages are not eligible.
Application Timeline: Applications are open for the Summer funding round now through
September 3, 2024 at 6pm ET.
Southwest Community Fund w/ First Southwest Bank
First Southwest Community Fund, in partnership with the Colorado Startup Loan Fund, is
offering small business grants of up to $15,000 for underserved small businesses (with 10 or
fewer employees), located in rural Colorado. Grants can be used for:
General operating expenses
Technical Assistance (including help with financials, business planning, human
resources, legal consulting and more)
Down payment assistance
Application Timeline: 2024 application has not been announced yet at this time, but inquire at
any time.
UPS Store Small Biz Challenge
Contestants will compete to win a trip to Miami, Florida, a share of the total prize pool of
$35,000 to grow their small business, and a feature in Inc. magazine.
Application Timeline: Phase 1 for applicants now closed for 2024. Waiting for the next grant
announcement.
Venmo Small Business Grant
20 small business will receive a $10k grant,󲤋mentorship from industry leaders, plus the
opportunity to be featured on Venmo’s social media pages.

Verizon Wireless Small Business Digital Ready
Small businesses can unlock the application for this round of grant funding by first registering on
the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready portal and completing at least two of the following, in
any combination: courses, coaching or community events. Small businesses that complete the
application, and are registered in a local zip code, will be eligible for consideration to receive a
$10,000 grant.
Application Timeline: Check back in the Fall to see what upcoming grants they have.
Federal Funding and Technical Assistance Opportunities
USDA Business & Industry Loan Guarantees in Colorado
This program offers loan guarantees to lenders for their loans to rural businesses.
Application Timeline: Applications are accepted from lenders through USDA local offices
year-round.
USDA Rural Business Development Grant
This program is designed to provide technical assistance and training for small rural businesses.
Projects must benefit rural areas of 50,000 or fewer. Business Programs provide financial
backing and technical assistance to stimulate business creation and growth. The programs work
through partnerships with public and private community based organizations and financial
institutions to provide financial assistance, business development, and technical assistance to
rural businesses. These programs help to provide capital, equipment, space, job training, and
entrepreneurial skills that can help to start and/or grow a business. Business Programs also
support the creation and preservation of quality jobs in rural areas. For agricultural producers.
To promote sustainable economic development and facilitate the development of small and
emerging private business, industry, and related employment for improving the economy in rural
communities.

USDA Rural Cooperative Development Grant
This program improves the economic condition of rural areas by helping individuals and
businesses start, expand or improve rural cooperatives and other mutually-owned businesses
through Cooperative Development Centers. Grants are awarded through a national competition.

USDA Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program
Provides loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) to:
To help microenterprises startup and growth through a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund.
Provide training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and micro
entrepreneurs.
The following are eligible to be a Microenterprise Development Organization:
Nonprofits.
Federally-recognized tribes.
Institutions of higher education.
The following are eligible to apply for a loan from the MDO as an ultimate recipient:
Businesses located in an eligible area with 10 or fewer full-time employees.
Eligible areas:
Rural areas outside a city or town with a population of fewer than 50,000 residents.
Urbanized areas near a city of 50,000 or more may not be eligible.
The borrower’s headquarters may be based within a larger city so long as the project
service area is located in an eligible rural area.
The lender may be located anywhere.

USDA Small Food Business Recovery and Resilience Grant
The Community Food Access program strives to increase access to and lower prices for healthy
food in low income, low access areas of the state by supporting small food retailers and small
family farms.
Application Timeline: This application closed March 11th, 2024.
U.S Small Business Association
Head to the Small Business Association to receive a wide range of technical assistance support,
ranging from small business support, business loans, and federal technical assistance.

Women & Minority Small Business Grants
Backing the B.A.R
The NAACP and Bacardi are proud to announce the Backing the Bar Grant Program! This
program is providing $10,000 grants to 10 entrepreneurs with a liquor license or real liquor
license aspirations. If you need financial, educational, or mentorship support, apply to the Back
the Bar Grant Program today!
Application Timeline: Applications are now closed. Preference will be given to Black
Entrepreneurs.
BMO Celebrating Women Grant Program
BMO bank is offering $10,000 grants to women-owned businesses that are looking to grow their
business.

Boundless Futures Grant
Boundless Futures Foundation empowers, embraces, and elevates female entrepreneurs
through grants to new businesses and to like minded nonprofits. Boundless Futures
Foundation’s grants to businesses are awarded directly to female entrepreneurs who put social
impact front and center in their business products or practices. We look at a society’s biggest
issues and believe in the power of entrepreneurs to provide solutions by going above and
beyond “business as usual” to create impact through profit and purpose — to solve a problem,
improve on the status quo, or give back in an intentional way.
Grant-eligible entrepreneurs demonstrate clear and consistent commitment to creating positive
change through businesses with ambitious and effective social reach. These businesses
address issues related to:

Past grantees illustrate the kinds of powerful businesses and visionary entrepreneurs Boundless
Futures Foundation supports. Grants are also awarded to mission-aligned nonprofits that

The Coramino Fund
In less than two years since its launch, The Coramino Fund in the U.S. has supported more
than 100 entrepreneurs with $10,000 grants to fuel the growth of their small businesses. Over
35,000 submissions were received from various industries including retail, transportation, food
services, educational services, and more since the fund launched.
In the 2024 funding round, 50 businesses were selected to receive grants – 52% of these
businesses are Black-owned, 36% are Latinx-owned, and 12% are Black and Latinx-owned;
66% of the grantee businesses are women-owned.
Application Timeline: 2024 applicants have been announced. 2025 Notice of Funding is not
live.
Enthuse Foundation
The Enthuse Foundation offers a series of financial grants to assist entrepreneurs with critical
business needs. Grants include funds for childcare, health or business insurance, business
tools and digital marketing.
Application Timeline: To be announced in 2025.
Fund Her Future Grant
One grand prize winner will receive a small business grant of $50,000. Additional finalists will
receive a grant of $12,500. All winners will also receive services from our experts:
Small Business Taxes, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Business Structure Analysis

Giving Joy Grant
Up to 500 dollars for businesses owned by Women 18 yrs and up. You can use the grant to start
a new business, or expand your existing business. You can also use the grant to start or expand
a nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO), charity, or propose a specific activity or
project you would like to implement.
Application Timeline: Due to the high volume of applications we receive at Giving Joy, they will
ONLY consider applications submitted between June 1st and July 31st, 2024.

iFundWomen offers a number of grant application partnerships with corporations and

Rainy Day Fund-$2500
$2500 grant application through Enthuse Marketing for women identifying entrepreneurs.

Adolph Coors Foundation
The Foundation supports organizations that promote the western values of self-reliance,
personal responsibility and integrity. We believe these values foster an environment where
entrepreneurial spirits flourish, helping Coloradans reach their full potential. The Foundation
places a high priority on programs that help youth to prosper, encourage economic
opportunities for adults and advance public policies that reflect our nations founding principles.
The Foundation's areas of interest include:
Youth and Youth Development , Adult Work-First and Self-Sufficiency,Entrepreneurship, Rural
Colorado (requests by invitation only), Integrative Medicine, and Public Policy.

Anschutz Family Foundation
The Anschutz Family Foundation supports rural and urban Colorado nonprofit organizations that
assist people to help themselves while nurturing and preserving their self-respect. We
encourage endeavors that strengthen families and communities and advance individuals to
become productive and responsible citizens. We have a special interest in self-sufficiency,
community development, and programs aimed at the economically disadvantaged, children and
youth, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Application Timeline: Begin accepting applications in mid-May, Application deadline July 1st
at 5pm MST, Grant decisions will be made Mid-November.

Ballentine Family Foundation
The Ballantines established the Ballantine Family Fund in 1957 to award grants to any nonprofit
they felt would enhance life in Southwest Colorado. Through their writing, activism, philanthropy,
and dedication to the region, the Ballantines greatly advanced community issues in Southwest
Colorado. Grant sizes are based on the size and need of the organization applying. Grants
range in size from $500 to $5,000. An amount of about $250,000 is awarded annually.The
Ballantine Family fund grants requests for general operations as well as specific projects and
programs.

Boettcher Foundation- Rural Catalyst Grant and the Community Connections Grant
- Rural Catalyst Grant
The Rural Catalyst Grant Program strengthens the internal capacity of organizations as they
work to achieve goals outlined in Boettchers Rural Leadership Collaborative meetings. Our
Rural Leadership Collaborative meetings are quarterly gatherings where rural leaders come
together to discuss strategies that advance their organizations, communities, and regions.
These capacity-building grants range from $1,000-$10,000 and are distributed to support the
following types of projects:
Strategic planning: Identifying elements of a blueprint that helps an organization
accomplish its goals.
Convening: Bringing people, ideas, and resources together to move forward an issue,
topic, or opportunity.
Short-term staffing or contractors: Supporting employees or expertise recruited for
short-term employment contracts to meet limited, one-time support needs.
One-time operating costs: Covering expenses related to the operation of the
organization or program that are not recurring, such as tap fees, application fees, public
outreach, or education material expenses.
Eligible Issue Areas: Current eligible areas include affordable rural housing, childcare, hiring
and retaining a rural workforce, leadership pipeline and diversification, mental health, rural
placemaking, and community-to-community collaboration.

- Community Connections Grant
Invest in initiatives or infrastructure projects that strengthen the connections between individuals
and organizations. We have three annual funding cycles in which we accept Community
Connections inquiries through a Grant Inquiry Form. Grants awarded in this category are
typically in the range of $20,000 – $75,000.
Application Timeline: Grant Inquiry Form Submission May 1st-May 31st, 2024, Invitation for
Proposal or Declination June 28th, 2024, Notification of funding August 29th.
Buell Foundation
The Buell Foundation seeks proven, promising, or developing programs that can demonstrate
success in helping children thrive. They support efforts to improve quality and encourage
meaningful evaluation and assessment. It is their goal to partner with outstanding organizations
to improve the systems that serve children. Particular focus is placed on programs that target
underserved communities.
Application Timeline: Application due September 3rd, 2024.
CHFA Direct Effect Award
CHFA’s Direct Effect Awards recognize Colorado nonprofit organizations whose missions align
with CHFA’s work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community
development.
Application Timeline: Application opens August 19th, closes on September 13th, 2024 at
11:59 pm MT.
Chick-Fil-A Inspiration Awards Grant
True Inspiration Awards® grants range from $30,000 to $350,000, with a collective $5 million
awarded annually to non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada and Puerto Rico.

Chinook Fund
Chinook Fund seeds community-led, systemic change by mobilizing resources for and trusting
in grassroots social justice organizations across Colorado. With 36 years of social impact,

Chinook Fund has distributed $4 million to over 390 organizations. Honoring our racial justice
commitment, 90 percent of grantee groups were led by Black, Indigenous, and other
communities of color. Grants range from $4,000 to $10,000 and are selected from community
members in The Giving Project.

The Colorado Trust
The Colorado Trust supports organizations and efforts focused on direct services, policy
advocacy, community building, public education and much more. We work side-by-side with
grantees and community members to ensure grants are solution-based and effective.
Application timeline: Application submissions on a rolling basis.
Coca-Cola Foundation
The CocaCola Foundation is committed to supporting communities across the world. Our giving
is guided by a firm set of priorities. Out of respect for the time and resources of all our
stakeholders, we do not accept unsolicited proposals for grants.
Application Timeline: Unsolicited grant proposals will not be accepted at this time. All requests
for community support in the form of grants, sponsorships or beverage products, for
consideration by The Coca-Cola Company, The Coca-Cola Foundation or any of its affiliated
regional foundations must be submitted through this online application system. Our giving is
guided by a firm set of priorities.
Colorado Creates Grant w/ OEDIT
The Colorado Creates Grant helps organizations and communities create art and cultural
activities through general operating support funding. Funds are distributed throughout Colorado
with a focus on rural communities.
Grant awards are flat amounts based on your organization’s cash operating revenue for your
most recently completed fiscal year. All successful applicants in the same revenue range will
receive the same amount of grant funds.
Eligible organizations:
be an arts-focused 501(c)(3) organization (see below) or an independent component of
a program associated with a college, university, or unit of government (see below)
hold your primary business location in Colorado
have supporting the arts as your organizational mission, including but not limited to
visual, performing, literary, and media arts organizations
have held public arts programs in Colorado for at least two years before the application
deadline

have a cash operating budget of at least $25,000 for your last completed fiscal year
be registered in Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State and current with
annual corporate reports and charitable solicitation registration
be current in reporting for other Colorado Creative Industries grants or programs
show collaboration, a mutual investment of funds or other resources to the activity, with
other organizations

CREATE- Colorado Resource for Emergency and Trauma Education
CREATE assists private and public organizations in improving and expanding the emergency

Daniels Fund
The Daniels Fund provides grants to support highly effective nonprofit organizations in
Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through the Daniels Fund Grants Program.
Programs or projects need to align with our donor's intent and fit within the Daniels Fund Grants
Program's funding areas: Aging, Amateur Sports, Disabilities, Drug & Alcohol Addiction, Early
Childhood Education, Homeless & Disadvantaged, K-12 Education Reform, and Youth
Development.

DWE NonProfit Grant Opportunity
Grant requirements include providing four volunteers for four hours each day (it does not
need to be the same people each day). Volunteers need to be physically able to stand/walk for
four hours and be able to carry approximately 15 lbs., helping our wine vendors as needed:
carrying ice, greeting guests, ensuring alcohol does not leave the premises, and other duties.
Volunteers can be staff, board members, or other organization reps – anyone that represents
your organization well and knows how to work a crowd!
The time commitment Friday, April 26, is 3:30 to 7:30 PM. The time commitment Saturday,
April 27, is a pre-assigned, four-hour shift between 10:30 AM and 8:30 PM. On Friday, your
volunteer team will be paired with one of our Friday Walkabout locations in downtown Durango.
On Saturday, your team will work under the big tent at the Smiley Building.

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, but makes grants all over the state – investing in
organizations, people, and partnerships that help people live better lives. Since Spencer and
Julie Penrose established El Pomar in 1937, El Pomar has made over 25,000 grants totaling
more than $600 million for the benefit of the people of Colorado.
Application Timeline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but should be submitted
8-10 weeks before the following quarterly review: May 21st, 2024, July 26th 2024, September
27th 2024, December 13th 2024.
Gates Family Foundation
Gates Family Foundation invests in capital projects across the state, in both rural and urban
areas. They strive to be responsive to each community’s unique needs and opportunities.
Gates Family Foundation (GFF) capital grants are generally limited to comprehensive capital
campaigns, which are typically for building purchases, construction, expansion, renovation,
and/or land acquisition. Only nonprofit organizations with capital projects that benefit Colorado
and its residents are qualified to apply. When making funding decisions, GFF prioritize:
Projects that address root problems with substantive solutions
Projects with evidence of community involvement in setting project priorities
Projects in rural and low-income areas across Colorado where there are fewer
individuals and institutions providing support for capital projects
Projects that serve individuals and communities of color who have faced historic
inequities and lack of access to funding
Projects with strong engagement and financial support from the organization’s
governing board
Projects that reinforce the foundation’s strategic priorities in K-12 public education,
natural resources, community development, and informed communities
Projects that address climate change, and/or incorporate green building and
sustainable development practices

The Gill Foundation is a team of enterprising, mission-focused, and collaborative individuals
dedicated to the advancement of equality for all LGBTQ Americans and every Coloradan.

Laura Jane Musser Fund
The Laura Jane Musser Fund assists public or not-for-profit entities to initiate or implement
projects that enhance the ecological integrity of publicly owned open spaces, while encouraging
compatible human activities. The Fund’s goal is to promote public use of open space that
improves a community’s quality of life and public health, while also ensuring the protection of
healthy, viable and sustainable ecosystems by protecting or restoring habitat for a diversity of
plant and animal species.

The Next50 Changing Aging
More than 30% of older adults in the U.S. are economically insecure*. Changing Aging grants
are designed to support economic opportunities for older adults and the organizations that serve
them through systems-level and programmatic innovations in Next50’s three priority areas:
ending ageism, advancing digital equity, and supporting aging in place.
Next50 seeks to support a wide range of initiatives including research, start-ups, pilot projects,
direct services, policy, and more.
Applicants will be required to incorporate an aspect of advancing equity for marginalized and/or
geographically underserved communities and applications will be strengthened by collaborative
efforts across nonprofits or sectors.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize honors the work of communities
that are at the forefront of addressing structural racism and other injustices to advance health,
opportunity, and equity for all. Since its launch in 2013, the Prize has recognized more than 60
communities across the country, inspiring change and highlighting community-led solutions that
show us that a more just and equitable world is possible. Previous Prize winners are creating

the conditions to enable residents to reach their best health and wellbeing, each working on
several key aspects-such as access to healthy foods, transportation, safe and affordable
housing, economic opportunity, clean water and air, reproductive justice, and Native and
Indigenous peoples’ sovereignty.
Partnership within communities is at the heart of the Prize. This call for applications will enable
us to select up to 10 communities to receive the Prize. To be eligible, applications should
represent a partnership of multiple unique organizations whose collaboration predates the Prize
application. We recognize the collective work of communities whose efforts show us that
improving health and equity is possible.

The SMPA Community Focus Program reinvests unclaimed member dividends into community

SMPA Sharing Success Economic Development Grants
San Miguel Power Association Inc., in conjunction with its national cooperative partner, CoBank,
seeks funding opportunities that stimulate and enhance our local economies. In order to
financially support projects, programs and organizations that are actively working to improve the
financial stability of local businesses, expand entrepreneurial opportunities and bring revenue to
our towns and counties, SMPA awards grants to selected applicants.
Member organizations and businesses may apply for up to $20,000 (rounded to the nearest
$500) depending on the costs of their initiatives. Initiatives may vary in size and scope but
should aim to benefit the entire business community of a region, not just individual businesses.

Spark Good Local Walmart Grant
Walmart Spark Good Grant aims to address the unique needs of the communities where
Walmart operates. Grants support a variety of organizations, such as animal shelters, elder
services, and community clean-up projects.

31.
T-mobile Hometown Grant
We’ll help fund projects that foster local connections, like technology upgrades, outdoor spaces,
the arts, and community centers. T-Mobile awards up to $50,000 for shovel-ready projects.
Applicant’s proposal must include plans, budget, timeline, anticipated impact, and up to five letters of
suppor t. Elected officials, town managers/employees, tribal leaders, or nonprofit community leaders
from small towns with a population less than 50,000 can apply.
